'In God We Trust' So what's wrong here

Update: Gov. Perry did not select Ms. Dunbar. He selected another young earther, Gail Lowe. It appears Gov. Perry will only pick creationist to destroy the education of Texas children, and as text book publishers will only publish the crap that the religiously uneducated Texas School Board members will allow, all other children.

The House of Representatives have passed H.Con.Res.131 that authorizes the Capitol Architect to engrave the national motto and the Pledge of Allegiance into the walls of the Capitol's Visitor's Center.

So what's so wrong about posting 'In God We Trust'? Well, I'd like to ask my Congressman why he voted to post a motto and a rewritten pledge that were passed when I was born by the John Birch Society. Has Rep. Gerry Connolly suddenly become a John Bircher? Next, does he know the company he is keeping. He voted with Rep. Michelle Bachmann (the wacko from Minneapolis) and Rep. Brian Bilbray (the wacko from San Diego). You'd have to water-board me for over a month before I'd agree with anything these two wingnuts vote for.

Now comes the Governor of Texas who is possibly getting ready to appoint a crazy wingnut homeschooler to be the head of education in Texas. This is Cynthia Dunbar (the wacko from Richmond) to be chairwoman of the Texas State Board of Education. This is an attorney trained by that great legal scholar, Pat Robinson, at his Regency University Law School.

This by the way is the same wingnut university where Taliban Bob McDonnell graduated with a so-called law degree. Funny coincidence is that Ms. Dunbar is also known as the 'Texas Taliban'.

I seriously think we should attach the word TALIBAN to everyone who graduates from that so-called Christian Law School.

This hatred for public education by White Anglo Saxon Protestants was originally motivated several decades ago by racism. The Christian Conservatives and the Moral Majority continued the objective of damaging public education in America for the same reasons but changed the public discourse from racism to anti-science and rewriting history to match their philosophical ideas. Anti-science in that they believe the Flintstones cartoon show was actually reality based entertainment and our history should be changed to reflect that the deist Founding Fathers were Christians in their fantasy world.

All of this is to show exactly why it is so dangerous to agree with these wingnuts when they propose placing the national motto on our Federal public buildings. You could just wind up with a society of seriously more ignorant citizens than we already have as evidenced by the Taliban Christians in America.
