Senator Gretchen Whitmer Responds to Pro-Bullying Legislation

Sen. Whitmer provides us with a really impassioned and heartfelt speech on the hatred and dread created by the Republican Party and the Conservative Christians in America. The hate organizations like the Roman Catholic Church, the American Family Association, the Family Research Center, the American Center for Law and Justice, and others on the far right justify their violence against homosexuals and others by declaring them immoral when they themselves are the ones who are bereft of morals. Watch!

Protect Life Act Passes House: Republicans vote to compel pregnancies even if it kills the woman

The Protect Life Act has passed the House of Representatives on October 13th, but will likely die in the US Senate. The bill is also being referred to as the 'Let Women Die' bill cause if a woman needs a medical procedure to save her life but the hospital is Catholic or some other wing nut cult, she will just die right there on the floor of that hospital and this legislation will protect them from lawsuits.

Protect Life Act Passes House: House Passes Controversial Anti-Abortion Bill

Rep. Jackie Speier (D-Calif.) said she personally faced a situation in which an abortion was medically necessary. "I was pregnant, I was miscarrying, I was bleeding," she said on the House floor Thursday. "If I had to go from one hospital to the next trying to find one emergency room that would take me in, who knows if I would even be here today. What my colleagues on the other side of the aisle are trying to do is misogynist."

House GOP Proposes So-Called ‘Let Women Die’ Bill That Lets Hospitals Deny Life-Saving Care

Under H.R. 358, dubbed the “Protect Life Act” and sponsored by Rep. Joe Pitts (R-Pa.), hospitals that don’t want to provide abortions could refuse to do so, even for a pregnant woman with a life-threatening complication that requires a doctor terminate her pregnancy. This provision would apply to the more than 600 Catholic hospitals governed by the Catholic Health Association, which are regulated by bishops and prohibited from performing abortions.

This is just another example out of many we see every day in this country where the state is co-mingling with religion. Totally out of the air or completely out of their ass, religions such as Catholicism determined that conception is when God give a soul to the unborn and an embryo suddenly becomes a baby, a person, a human being with full rights. All scientific evidence and every biology class in America proves this wrong. The chances of an embryo making it to full maturation and a baby being delivered alive is very minuscule. Just traveling down the Fallopian tube is a hazard for embryos.

The Bible doesn't even back up all the Christian hoopla over abortion. In the OT, God orders the tribes to kill all women, men and boys and especially the pregnant women. The teachings of Jesus say nothing about abortion or contraceptive. This is the Catholic Church making this stuff up out of thin air.

The best part is the Church has the resources at its disposal to accomplish its misogynistic abortion goals. The fact is if the churches in America opposed to abortion ever decided to give up their tax-free IRS status, they could spend all the money they want to to politic for those who will take their money and vote their way. Fortunately, the Churches are not really spiritual organizations that even believe the mystical crap they spout. They like their money way too much to ever actually fight abortion. That is how I know the abortion debate is all politics and not a religious conviction for the churches in America. But that still doesn't mean women don't suffer from the crap the Republicans are passing in Congress. I really can not stand how our government and its politicians pandering to the religious right do so much damage to our nation.

Would U.S. bishops know Religious Liberty if it bit them in the ass?

The U.S. bishops have formed a committee in response to perceived attacks by the Obama administration. The bishops' Ad Hoc Committee for Religious Liberty claims to be persecuted by the US State Department when it attempts to stem the spread of Aids and sexually transmitted diseases around the world. This committee is concerned also concerned about the government requiring Migration and Refugee Services to provide service to migrants and their children. Of course those services include the full range of health care which the bishops just cannot stand. If you violate the precepts of the bishops, then you violate their religious liberty to kill millions of people world-wide through denial of condoms that can protect against STDs.

What I can't understand is if the stated morality is one where monogamous heterosexual couples should not prevent procreation, then why do the bishops object to the rest of the sinners using rubbers to prevent diseases? Guess it doen't matter since they just do.

Meanwhile, the bishops object to the Department of Justice anti-discrimination position of refusing to enforce the Defense of Marriage of Act. The bishops are really upset when it is suggested that those against homosexuals are bigoted and hateful. Even though the bishops are bigoted and hateful against homosexuals and demand that they not only be treated as second class citizens, but also should be removed from Christian society.

The bishops also object to the Justice Department's rejection of the "ministerial exception" in a case just taken up by the Supreme Court this term. This so-called exception states that the government has no place in employment law when it comes to churches. Therefore, a teacher fired for her disability cannot go to court to sue for disability discrimination. Wonder why a church is even guilty of disability discrimination? Oh yea, the ADA can cost a company plenty of money to be in compliance.

Let's see, they also dislike the enforcement of regulations that mandate health insurance plans provide contraceptives. There is a provision that the bishops (or as they say it, "the parish housekeeper") are exempt, but they want everyone who claims to be Catholic to also be exempt.

Finally, the bishops are upset about New York passing a law "redefining marriage, with only a very narrow religious exemption."

Anyone can see the real problem here. The American Catholic Church is declaring that the government of the United States cannot pass laws or regulations that impede the religious discrimination and hateful bigotry of the church and makes life better for all or any Americans. Gays and Lesbians are not to be afforded the same rights of a state marriage afforded to all heterosexuals. The state cannot interfere with any church that wishes to discriminate against Americans. We are not a united people under one flag. We are a divided nation under different houses of worship and none. The government cannot even use secular resources to stop the spread of diseases throughout the world, because some old men say it is wrong to use protection that also prevents procreation. So everyone should just die, because the church and its bishops say so. I really don't think so.

And the right to discriminate, the right to hate and spread bigotry, the right to compel pregnancies, the right to stop the use of protection from diseases and stop the deaths of millions, These are the rights of religious liberty to be cherished by the Ad Hoc Committee for Religious Liberty. Once again God, protect us from your followers!

Great, now I'm a Demon too

The Demons come in the form of ACLU, American United for Separation of Church and State, lesbians, gays, union members, teachers, policemen, firemen, and the entire Middle Class of America. Well, at least I'm in good company. A lot better company than all those angels in Republican Silly Party.

The little known radical theocratic movement behind Gov. Rick Perry

The movement is called the New Apostolic Reformation. Believers fashion themselves modern-day prophets and apostles. They have taken Pentecostalism, with its emphasis on ecstatic worship and the supernatural, and given it an adrenaline shot.

The movements top prophets and apostles believe they have a direct line to God. Through them, they say, He communicates specific instructions and warnings. When mankind fails to heed the prophecies, the results can be catastrophic: earthquakes in Japan, terrorist attacks in New York, and economic collapse. On the other hand, they believe their God-given decrees have ended mad cow disease in Germany and produced rain in drought-stricken Texas.

Their beliefs can tend toward the bizarre. Some consider Freemasonry a demonic stronghold tantamount to witchcraft. The Democratic Party, one prominent member believes, is controlled by Jezebel and three lesser demons. Some prophets even claim to have seen demons at public meetings. Theyve taken biblical literalism to an extreme. In Texas, they engage in elaborate ceremonies involving branding irons, plumb lines and stakes inscribed with biblical passages driven into the earth of every Texas county.

If they simply professed unusual beliefs, movement leaders wouldnt be remarkable. But what makes the New Apostolic Reformation movement so potent is its growing fascination with infiltrating politics and government. The new prophets and apostles believe Christianscertain Christiansare destined to not just take dominion over government, but stealthily climb to the commanding heights of what they term the Seven Mountains of society, including the media and the arts and entertainment world. They believe theyre intended to lord over it all. As a first step, theyre leading an army of God to commandeer civilian government.

In Rick Perry, they may have found their vessel. And the interest appears to be mutual.

Republicans are not trustworthy enough to negotiate with anymore.

NJ Gov. Chris Christie called a 'Bully' and a 'Punk' by Senate President Sweeney for Line Item Veto | Crooks and Liars

The one lesson that has to be taken away from the actions of New Jersey Governor Chris "Prick" Christie is that all Republicans are too untrustworthy to negotiate with about anything.

President Obama and Majority Leader Senator Harry Reid are currently negotiating with House Speaker John Boner over the debt limit. The Republicans think they have the upper hand in keeping tax cuts for millionaires. Obama and Reid should look to New Jersey. Governor Prick Christie signed a deal with Senate President Steve Sweeney. A very wrong deal, but a deal all the same. Sweeney got concessions from the Prick and the Prick got to gut public union rights. Then as soon as the Prick got what he wanted from the Democrats, he then sandbagged the Democrats and vetoed all the provisions in their signed deal.

This is a very valuable lesson for every person in America. There is not a single Republican in this country who can be trusted. All the Republicans ran for office in 2010 promising to fight for jobs. They lied to and sandbagged the entire nation by only fighting to continue tax breaks for themselves and their posterity and to hell with the rest of America. They are Libertarians, which only means Self-Interest above Country and Humanity.

Republicans fighting for banks to profit from laundering Mexican drug money

"WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama's financial overhaul law is nearly a year old. For congressional Republicans, the fight to weaken it is just starting.
Wary of trying to repeal the entire statute and being portrayed as Wall Street's protectors – banks rank among the country's least popular institutions – GOP lawmakers are trying to nibble away at the behemoth measure. It's a crusade they're waging despite lacking the White House and Senate control they need to prevail."

It is clear that the congressional GOP members are trying to make it easier for banks to make profits without regulations that limit their ability to launder drug money for the Mexican and Columbian drug cartels. At the same time, these GOP members are against any laws designed to decriminalize or legalize recreational drugs so that their financial benefactors (the banks) can continue to profit from laundering drug money. At the same time, the gun lobby is making a profit from all the guns we sell south of the border that is resulting in killing tens of thousands in our drug war.

While the middle class is paying for the drug war with the cartels and the bankers and Wall Streeters are making billions laundering drug money and the gun makers are making millions selling guns, the Middle Class is required to continue paying billions every year to incarcerate tens of thousands of Blacks and Latinos for drug possession of anywhere from a gram to kilos while the real criminals in the banks and on Wall Street go stock free. Protected by their friends, those family value loving good Evangelicals in the Tea Bagger GOP.

Don't you just love America, the Christian Nation.

The Santorum Presidency Will Rejuvenate The Dark Ages

We already have a super majority of Catholics on the U.S. Supreme Court and if we add another member of the  Opus Dei as U.S. President, we will definitely start another Inquisition. I would even bet that a Santorum Administration would rename the office of Attorney General in the Department of Justice to the Grand Inquisitor.

From there it isn't too difficult to foresee the resulting trials and burning at the stake for those atheist heretic scientists that deny biblical teachings of  a young earth, global climate change, and creationism. P.Z. Myers better not be in the country on inauguration day when Roberts swears in the Santorum.

It also won't be too healthy for any public science teacher in the country who refuse to kowtow to the religious right by agreeing to teach alchemy over chemistry, astrology over astronomy, or biology over creationism. I foresee them being arrested, arraigned, tried and taken out and publicly hung by the neck as Witches. Needless to ad that just about every mid-wife, and Board Certified OB-GYN will be hanging right beside the teachers (Witches).

The best part is that thanks to Dubya, Cheney, and John Soo, the Santorum Justice Departments' Grand Inquisitor will have no problem getting confessions from all these Witches and scientists. He will have the same full complement of torture techniques that Inquisitors of the past enjoyed.

Think it can't happen? Better think again. I used to think that state laws mandating forced-pregnancy in cases of rape and incest were begging to populate the country with inbred morons. Then I discovered that 20 states already formally legalize marriage and reproduction between first cousins and another six allow for first cousins to marry with limitations. That's over half the country, and these include California and New York. What is really amazing is that North Carolina adds a proviso that double first cousins marriages are not legal. That means they are in the rest of the 20 states. A  double first cousin marriage carries with it the same inbred mental and health problems that result when siblings reproduce.

This surely demonstrates we have the potential for one hell of a lot of inbred idiots. The same who will be voting and I predict they will be voting for the Santorum.

Gov. Perry: Economic Crisis Is Part of God’s Plan To Return Us To Biblical Principles

Gov. Perry: Economic Crisis Is Part of God’s Plan To Return Us To Biblical Principles: "For the past week, Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) has been roundly criticized by religious and LGBT groups alike for inviting other governors to join him at an anti-gay prayer event hosted by stridently bigoted American Family Association. Not only has Perry courted the radical wing of the religious right for years,  he has a history of bucking responsibility for tough problems by invoking God. For instance, while Texas was facing a historic drought and rash of wildfires, Gov. Perry extolled Texans to “pray for rain,” as he tried to cut funding for the agency battling the wildfires."

Please remember that the American Family Association, along with the Family Research Council, like the Westboro Baptist Church, are all listed by the Southern Poverty Law Center as hate groups for their strong anti-LGBT positions.

McConnell and Cuccinelli advance discrimination in child adoptions

Groups urge more time to comment on adoption regulations: "The social services board voted in April to remove a proposed ban on discrimination based on sexual orientation." They also removed gender, age, religion, political beliefs, sexual orientation, disability and family status. The only basis in the current law is race, color or national origin. McConnell said he thinks the current law works well. Of course it works very well for Catholics, but atheists and homosexuals are intentionally left out of society in Virginia.

The state government under the GOP Silly Party just doesn't work for its citizens. It only works for the ones it believes are good. Those are the Southern Baptists and Opus Dei Catholics, i.e., the radical conservative ones who discriminate against women, gays and lesbians, Moslems, Atheists, progressives, and non-married couples.

McConnell and Cuccinelli's main method of advancing their anti-Virginian policies is through the State Board of Social Services where we find members who attended Regents University (Pat Roberts U), and a Southern Baptist minister. This is the nonpartial group who dictates who may and who may not adopt children in Virginia.

Please notice that Virginia doesn't discriminate in the assessing or collecting taxes. Sexual orientation, religion or lack thereof, gender, age or political beliefs suddenly couldn't matter less to McConnell and Cuccinelli.

Defunding Planned Parenthood: Religious Punishment For Fornication.

AlterNet / By Amanda Marcotte

At the state level, the GOP's attacks on reproductive rights may widen the already huge gulf between red and blue states in health, family stability, and education.

May 5, 2011 | Republicans lost the first battle in their newly invigorated war on contraception and other health services for sexually active people, such as STD testing and treatment, when the Democrats called their bluff in the federal budget standoff. Planned Parenthood avoided the ax, but that doesn’t mean that Republicans are prepared to give up on doing everything in their power to separate women, especially low-income women, from access to contraception services. In lieu of cutting family planning subsidies on the federal level, Republicans have devised a plan to cut them on the state level, where they face fewer meddling pro-choice Democrats.

The strategy remains the same: Say the word “abortion” a lot, and use it to cut funding for contraception and other reproductive health services that aren’t abortion. Indiana kicked off the state-by-state strategy by banning Planned Parenthood from receiving any federal funding, using the usual abortion excuse, though none of the funding goes to abortion. Despite knowing that anti-discrimination laws would mean that this bill would end all family planning subsidies to the state, Gov. Mitch Daniels signed it anyway. Even though Republicans pretend to be cutting family planning spending more in sorrow than in joy, they still produce results for a right wing fringe that opposes not just abortion, but contraception, STD treatment, and preventing cervical cancer, all in the service of a religious belief that these are holy punishments for fornication.

Republicans in other red states see the benefit to the strategy, which allows them to cater to the far right while pretending to be more moderate. Invoking the demonized Planned Parenthood gives cover for an endless array of punishments for women who have sex and don't have much money. Texas is using Indiana's strategy to cut off all forms of reproductive health care, as are Kansas and a growing list of other red states. An enterprising Oklahoma legislator realized the strategy could be used to shut down WIC distribution in his state, adding “watching your babies starve” to the list of punishments Republicans view as appropriate for women who have sex without having the foresight to be financially comfortable first.

If Republicans in red states succeed in using the abortion bait-and-switch to cut off all reproductive health care, expect dramatic growth in the already-alarming divide between red states and blue states in measures such as health outcomes, family stability, and education. Red states top blue states consistently in divorce rates, STD transmission rates, and teen birth rates. Red states are overrepresented in high school drop out rates. A sudden disappearance of affordable reproductive health care will dramatically worsen this situation.

Why? In some areas, the reasons are obvious. STD transmission rates depend highly both on the availability of condoms, and cutting off the supply of affordable condoms will affect that availability rate. But it’s more than just latex that prevents STD transmission. STD transmission rates also fall when people discover their STDs and receive treatment before they have sex with a new partner, and cutting off affordable testing and treatment will mean far more people will put off testing and pass infections unawares.

Subsidized family planning has an outsized impact on teenage pregnancy rates, as well. Teenagers don’t tend to have access to much money, and they often can’t -- or won’t -- go through their parents to get contraception. Planned Parenthood is a cheap and parent-proof route to safer sex for sexually active teens. The GOP's dreams that teenagers en masse will stop screwing and start teaching Sunday school are unlikely to pan out, so expect states that cut off family planning funds to see a surge in teen births.

Lack of contraception access produces far-reaching negative results as well. As Naomi Cahn and June Carbone have demonstrated, one reason red states have higher divorce rates is that they have more people marrying without foresight because of unplanned pregnancy. Fewer condoms means more unplanned pregnancies, more shotgun weddings, and eventually more divorces.

States that adopt this plan to cut off family planning may as well kiss away hopes of improvements in their educational outcomes, as well. Cuts in family planning hit educational outcomes now and in the future. Girls who give birth in high school graduate at little over half the rate of girls who don’t, so an increase in the teenage pregnancy rate means an increase in the drop-out rate. But this is about more than the mothers; more unplanned pregnancies means more strain on overcrowded schools and more kids entering the system with unstable family lives, which increase the odds of dropping out. Obama wants schools to be racing to the top, but many red states are opting to race to the bottom.

In the greatest irony of all, the higher your unplanned pregnancy rate, the higher your abortion rate. Despite all the wailing about the evils of abortion, Republicans are doing more to increase the abortion rate than you could do by putting an abortion provider charging $5 a pop on every street corner.

If that doesn’t fill your daily irony quotient, consider that Republicans deem themselves fiscal conservatives, but this war on women will end up costing their states way more than they’re currently spending on social programs. The Guttmacher Institute estimates that the government saves $4 for every dollar spent on family planning in the first year alone, because of the costs of child-bearing and infant care for low-income women. For states facing budget crises, this dramatic explosion in costs will make it that much harder to stay out of the red.

Republicans probably haven’t thought about this plan much beyond patting themselves on the back for being clever enough to give something to the anti-contraception fringe without unduly alarming moderates. Still, they should consider the effects of amplifying the differences in red and blue states. Red states already have a reputation for high poverty, teenage pregnancy, STD, and divorce rates. If they continue down this path, the contrast between red and blue states will start to resemble that of undeveloped and industrial nations

Far Religious Right are Anti-Union, Anti-Freedom, but Pro-Atheist Now

Pat Robertson and the incredibly extreme far right religious are anything but religious. But when I read that they were joining forces with the Ayn Rand Libertarian Atheists called the Tea Party, well I just could not believe it. Wasn't the most hated group after the ACLU, the Atheists? Now the Ayn Rand Libertarian Koch brothers and their Americans for Prosperity are employing Ralph Reed to fix them up with a date with the Evangelistas.

But then I read further on and discovered Pat Robertson Sides With African Leader Who Won't Leave Office: Media Matters for America. Ties to such great men as Charles Taylor and Laurent Gbagbo because they bring with them the ability to make great wealth through diamond mines in their countries.

Then I had that moment of sudden understanding and slapped myself up side the head. Remember that the Catholic and Protestant Evangelistas Movement in America has absolutely nothing to do with belief in Gods, or anything to do with an afterlife. This movement is only concerned with this life and accumulation of great wealth. It is a Calvinist pro-worshipping of the Golden Calf. So it is very easy to see so-called Christain Evangelistas sidling up to rich Atheists like the Koch brothers.

The Tea Partiers as run by Americans for Prosperity are Ayn Rand Libertarian Atheists who couldn't care less whether the Evangelistas claim some false faith to advance their cause. Just so long as they bring along their millions of voters to support their faith that limited or no government is next to godlyness. You have to keep reminding yourself that the Christians throughout history have been consistent, if nothing else. Consistent in making this shit up as they go along. The Christains are about to become Anarchists with faith in Libertarian Atheists who worship great wealth. Pray for them.

Conservative Catholic Majority on US Supreme Court Uphold Right of Catholic Schools to Receive Tax Subsidies

The Roman Catholic Church in the United States is no longer capable of sustaining its religion on its own. The people are obviously not there any longer to support this religion in the US. So if the people won't support their religion, then the religion will just have to go its long time friend, the government and ask it to once again subsidize their activities. Our illustrious conservative Catholic majority on the US Supreme Court voted 5 to 4 to uphold Arizona's efforts to provide tax payer funds to prop up failing parochial schools.

Justice Kagan speculated on whether there was any difference between this case, and say, a state that elected to purchase crucifixes for anyone that wanted to have one. Kagan asserted in her dissent that a state could overcome a court challenge by making the subsidy a tax exemption. She suggested: 'The state “could authorize that person to claim a tax credit equal to the price she paid.” For example, if that person's state tax bill was $400 but she'd purchased a 10-inch, walnut crucifix for $40, she would owe the state only $360.'

I can't wait for Virginia to try Justice Kagan's idea of a $500 tax credit to "reward Jews.... for their religious devotion." Like that would ever happen.

What both of these articles conclude is that with Arizona Christian School Tuition Organization vs. Winn, the wall between religion and government has been breached. After over 200 years of a government required to allow the people to maintain control of their religious organizations, those religious organizations in order to overcome the apathy by the people towards their religious institutions, now allows religious organizations to lobby the government in order to continue their very existence. In other words, the government is the last resource to prop up religion in America because obviously the people have turned their back on their religious organizations.

Americans United: Religious Right Groups And Your Tax Dollars

Read Religious Right Groups And Your Tax Dollars: It’s A Bad Marriage « The Wall of Separation

It is past time to get our president to stop funding anti-science religion, anti-LGBT religion, anti-human rights religion, anti-women religion with this damn so called Faith Based and Neighborhood Partnerships. One of the worse parts is the total lack of accountability of the funding given over to these completely crooked and unethical organizations. It is the greatest threat to our secular nation. My tax dollars are being misused to lobby against Same Sex Marriage for stark crazy bigoted religious reasons. Shame! SH

'Congress shall make no law that increases the intelligence level of Republicans,'

Once again we have a candidate from the Silly Party complaining about the Muslims and Sharia Law and how is all fired set against any Muslims living under their set of religious rules. Then he turns around and campaigns as an Evangelical Christian saying he would only act in accordance with the religious rules established by Christianity. In other words, Pawlenty has changed the First Amendment from 'Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion,' to 'Congress shall make no law that increases the intelligence level of Republicans,' thank goodness we don't have to work hard to to maintain the separation of Republicans and Intelligence.

Bachmann, Kline: Obama’s not saying ‘God’ enough

62 members of the Kochsuckers Sill Party wrote a letter to Obama telling him he's not saying ‘God’ enough.

They are also upset he told some non-Christians that our first national motto "E Pluribus Unum" was still in effect. They want him to recognize the anti-communist McCarthyist national motto and the anti-communist McCarthyist addition to a Florida Socialist Minister's flag pledge. Our flag is under god.

Notice that no one knows which god it is under. Essays have been written about the nature of god in America and our belief in a SECULAR GOD. Or what some refer to as the Civil God for the Civil American Religion. This is not the Judeo-Christian-Libertarian-Atheist-Ayn Rand religion as the Kochsucking Tea Baggers would have you believe. No sir. This is that Declaration of Independence "Creator" and that American God Please Bless America spouted at the end of every political speech. It is not the universe creating deity that loves everyone just before he sentences them to eternal damnation. That's the Tea Baggers god.

America, as stated by the United States Supreme Court, has a  non-cosmic, non-sectarian, only for special occasions ceremonial god. We bring him out on Thanksgiving, our non-religious god's holiday created by President Washington. We ask him as our American god to bless us (Americans only) all the time. This god as everyone already knows does not exist in a real manner. He is a strictly a fictious character created to placate those simpletons who need the fantasy that there is an all-American deity watching out just for them. So salute the flag that is under a fictious made up non-sectarian deity that is worshiped at the dinner table on the third Thursday in November. Got to admit, it is a great deal better than the alternative that all those crazy religious believers insist on dragging around with them.

Right Wing Watch exposes Pastor Garlow's anti-secularism

Garlow: The Left's "Ideological Radiation" Is Poisoning America Right Wing Watch

The Secular Left is once again being hounded for all the ills of society. So-called Christian Pastor Garlow for a San Diego church accuses Secularist of killing 52,000,000 babies in the womb. How we shoved those 52,000,000 babies back inside women's wombs is still a mystery as well the reason we would do such a thing.

No, there were not 52,000,000 babies killed by Secularists. There have been and there will continue to be terminated pregnancies as determined between each woman and her medical practioner. A fetus is not a baby. It is a growing lifeform that could become a human being if all circumstances fall into place to allow that outcome. But too numerous conditions arise that can and do terminate a given pregnancy. Furthermore, the life of the woman who has been impregnated can be adversely affected in way too many ways. the health of the woman, the economic condition of the woman, the effects of prenancy on the woman and the chemical changes that take place. Not just during the pregnancy but even afterwards. Chemical reactions that can result in Post Partum Depression. Severe injury and death can result from anyone of these conditions. Injury and death not only to the woman but the life she has inside her. All of these conditions lead to the ultimate conclusion that every woman should be allowed the freedom to determine her own health and that of the potential life inside her. And under no circumstances should a lay pastor even try to intervene or subject women to his/her total lack of medical knowledge. What makes these people even think they can practice medicine. Shouldn't you have a licence to do that?

As a member of the Secular Left, I stand up for the rights of women to determine their own lifes without the unending bigotry of so-called Christian pastors like Garlow who goe around professing to know what his diety likes. His diety likes for him to take away all women's rights. Wonder why I don't believe in Garlow's concept of Christianity? Wonder no more.

Boston Globe exposes Santorum's anti-secular views

Rick Santorum is a conservative Catholic who has attacked President Kennedy for his secular views of public office. Read the Globe article here. Kennedy was also a Catholic but he represented all US citizens and was a president for all the United States. Santorum makes no bones about it, he will not represent all the citizens of the USA if he is elected president. He will rule as a born again Catholic and to hell with all those who do not agree with him. He is some Christian too. He is against providing health care to children and the sick and injured. He is against feeding the poor. He is against every teaching Jesus ever taught. And he is not even the worse of the born again haters.

So come on all you born again haters who profess to be Christians, vote for Santorum, then you can have the POTUS come over to your home and fondle your miscarriaged dead fetus. Disgusting you say. So do I. But that is what you will get if you elect yourself some Santorum.

Reverend Jim DeMint’s Theory Of Relativity: ‘The Bigger Government Gets, The Smaller God Gets’

The Reverend Jim DeMint of South Carolina who some folks think is a US Senator has told his congregation that every time the government grows, religion pays the price and his Deity gets smaller. Really not sure if he is speaking about his manhood or not.

He then espoused the crazy idea that a society has to have Christianity in order to be a working democracy. That will probably come as a surprise to all those non-Christians in India, Japan and Turkey that are Christian free democratic societies.

Actually, Christianity is the preferred faith of Monarchies. Anyone remember their history of Europe? Anyone remember the Catholic states of Italy, France, and Spain until the Moslems conquered Spain and the Catholics had to route them out and impose the Inquisition?

The Protestant states of England and the Germanic states were esactly the same as the Catholic ones, namely that the Monarchy was established as the leaders of their countries virtue of God's will.

Then at the end of the Eighteenth Century, the New World colonies fought for independence and overthrew God, King, and England. France followed suite soon after that. In the United States our nation of laws makes it perfectly clear that our nation is ruled by the laws established by the people of the USofA and not by religious organizations, or the crazy religious leaders, such as the Holy Reverend Jim DeMint or any of the other numerous would be self-declared religious theocrats who go around stating again and again that our nation is ruled by their God who hands down rules exclusely and explicitly to them. God talks to Jim DeMint and Jim DeMint runs us and our country according to what he says God told him to do. God told Jim DeMint that HE hates GLBTs, so we have to hate GLBTs. God told Jim Demint the fetus in the womb is a Human Being so we have to deny medical care to all women. God tells Jim DeMint that firearms are holy in his eyes, so every person and every household has to have as many firearms as possible.

Well Jim DeMint's God spoke to me and HE says don't listen to Jim DeMint. SH

Hundred Wounded In Latest Battle of the World Religious War

Christians and Muslims in Fatal Clash Near Cairo - NY Times.com

Eleven dead and almost a hundred wounded near Cairo. Why? An interfaith love affair that led to the burning of a Christian church. The picture to the left depicts the protesting Christians.

So goes the continuous war between Catholics and Protestants, Christians and Muslims, Muslims and Hindus, etc., etc., the whole world over on every continent except maybe Antarctica where no one lives. it is pretty obvious that when the rest of the world is the same as Antarctica, devoid of the human species, then we will finally achieve religious peace in the world.

Birth Control and abortion with the founder of Planned Parenthood

Margaret Sanger: The Mike Wallace Interview

The religious right are trying to defund Planned Parenthood. Here is a video interview of Margaret Sanger who started Planned Parenthood with Mike Wallace. She was a humanist, atheist, socialist, and feminist. Best part of course is the commercials for Philip Morris throughout the interview and Mike smoking throughout the whole show and even Mrs. Sanger saying she never smoked, but she will start with Philip Morris.

Will This Be On Our History Exam?

On February 22nd, Rick Santorum spoke to 200 students, parents and faculty at the Oakbrook Preparatory School (a Christian academy). Santorum told the audience that the 1960 Kennedy speech on separation of government and religion had 'disastrous consequences.' Santorum claimed that speech caused 'the privatization of faith' and this was the start of the leftest lie about separation of church and state.
Obviously us Secular Humanists want to discredit Catholicism like when we teach that the nations of Europe during the Dark Ages were controled by the Vatican who directed the leaders of Europe to attack the Islamo-terrorists during the Crusades.

“The idea that the Crusades and the fight of Christendom against Islam is somehow an aggression on our part is absolutely anti-historical,” Santorum said in Spartanburg on Tuesday. “And that is what the perception is by the American left who hates Christendom.”

He added, “They hate Western civilization at the core. That's the problem.” Yea right! That's the problem. I hate myself? No Rick, I don't hate myself. I am just really disgusted and ashamed to live in a civilization that can include someone such as you. A really big pile of Santorum.

The Myth of Militant Atheism | Psychology Today

I present for your amusement, an article from Psychology Today:

The Myth of Militant Atheism Psychology Today

by David Noise of the American Humanist Association tries to argue that because Atheists generally do not get into fights or go around killing or engaging in acts of terrorism, that the media calling them militant is only a myth.

Read the comments to this AP blog and you'll see one from Big Time Militant A. That is me and yes I see myself as a really big time militant atheist who demands my society live up to its promise of being a secular land that allows total freedom of thought for all its citizens. And that freedom will never be realized until we stop fighting religious wars and forcing us to provide sectarian education for our children, whether it be through vouchers or prayer in secular public education. And for crying out loud, quit making me pay the taxes that those damn churches refuse to pay.

Obama Prays With Gay Bashers

Below you will see a video of Get Equal's "Breakfast Without Bigotry" held in front of the DC Hilton where the President was inside attending the Foundations National Prayer Breakfast. The President is praying with those who wanted to pass a kill all gay people law in Uganda and where David Kato was killed by these God loving missionaries. So why would the President attend such a pro-hatred and bigotry event? An answer supplied by David Badash at The New Civil Rights Movement states:   "Rubbing elbows with religious bigots, haters, and those directly tied to the anti-gay hate in Africa, evidently, is just part of the job of a politician. And a president who the right believes is a Muslim, cannot afford to skip Breakfast with Jesus." Even if that Jesus is one who supports murdering gay people.

Jerry Boykin: People Always Ask Me "When Do We Take Up Arms" Against Obama

This was Bush's Army Intelligence Officer in Iraq. He has stated he saw demons in Iraq and now he calls for churches to rise up against our elected officials. Furthermore, he states our rights, such as, the right to vote comes from God. I thought we gave ourselves the right to overthrow the Judeo/Christian love of slavery and institute the right of self determination.

Okay for the last time, Obama is no where near a Marxist. Let's take the business bailouts. Obama had three choices. The first option was do absolutely nothing. That is what the TeaBaggers wanted. We would have had really long lines at soup kitchens on every block in every town in America. Wrong! Second choice was what Obama actually did. Namely, provide loans to banks and businesses to keep them solvent and people working. That is not the Socialist option. In some corners, it is called the rational approach. The Communist or Socialist option would have been if Obama had nationalized the banks and businesses. He didn't. So he is not now nor has he ever been a Socialist. Oh yea, also, you can not be both a Socialist and a National Socialist or fascism. The brownshirts were never Marxists, Jerry. Jeez, quit talking about things you have no intelligence about..

Republicans Vote To Justify Killing OB/GYN Doctors in South Dakota

South Dakota Bill Could Legalize Murder Of Abortion Providers TPMDC

If you see someone about to harm or actually harming a pregnant woman, you know like when one enters a Planned Parenthood Clinic, you could go in guns blazing and save the life of that poor little fetus and this law would save you from having to do time. Eric Robert Rudolph could be free right now and out there bombing more medical facilities if this law was around when he was convicted to life in prison.

A committee of the House of Representatives in South Dakota passed HB 1711 along party lines. HB 1711 states:
  • Homicide is justifiable if committed by any person while resisting any attempt to murder such person, or to harm the unborn child of such person in a manner and to a degree likely to result in the death of the unborn child, or to commit any felony upon him or her, or upon or in any dwelling house in which such person is.
  • Homicide is justifiable if committed by any person in the lawful defense of such person, or of his or her husband, wife, parent, child, master, mistress, or servant, or the unborn child of any such enumerated person, if there is reasonable ground to apprehend a design to commit a felony, or to do some great personal injury, and imminent danger of such design being accomplished.

Just what we need, a bill to legalize terrorism against women in the name of Jesus Christ.

Support the Darwin Day Resolution H. RES. 81

112th CONGRESS

1st Session

H. RES. 81

Expressing support for designation of February 12, 2011, as Darwin Day and recognizing the importance of science in the betterment of humanity.

IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
February 9, 2011

Mr. STARK submitted the following resolution; which was referred to the Committee on Science, Space, and Technology

RESOLUTION

Expressing support for designation of February 12, 2011, as Darwin Day and recognizing the importance of science in the betterment of humanity.

Whereas Charles Darwin's theory of evolution by the mechanism of natural selection, together with the monumental amount of scientific evidence he compiled to support it, provides humanity with a logical and intellectually compelling explanation for the diversity of life on Earth;

Whereas the validity of Darwin's theory of evolution by natural selection is further strongly supported by the modern understanding of the science of genetics;

Whereas it has been the human curiosity and ingenuity exemplified by Darwin that has promoted new scientific discoveries that have helped humanity solve many problems and improve living conditions;

Whereas the advancement of science must be protected from those unconcerned with the adverse impacts of global warming and climate change;

Whereas the teaching of creationism in some public schools compromises the scientific and academic integrity of the United States' education systems;

Whereas Charles Darwin is a worthy symbol of scientific advancement on which to focus and around which to build a global celebration of science and humanity intended to promote a common bond among all of Earth's peoples; and

Whereas, February 12, 2011, is the anniversary of the birth of Charles Darwin in 1809 and would be an appropriate date to designate as Darwin Day: Now, therefore, be it

Resolved, That the House of Representatives--

(1) supports the designation of Darwin Day; and

(2) recognizes Charles Darwin as a worthy symbol on which to celebrate the achievements of reason, science, and the advancement of human knowledge.

Chief Justice Roberts ruled unlawful conduct includes: "advocacy performed in coordination with, or at the direction of, a foreign terrorist organization.

Still have not heard anything from AG Holder on arresting Guilani, Ridge, Mukasey or Townsend. All four provided material support to a 14 year listed FTO. Guilani says he ain't no terrorist cause the law is correct but State is wrong. Of course they killed US Soldiers and Citizens, supported the take over of our embassy in Tehran, but they ain't no terrorists. Next time the cops want to arrest you, just say you agree with the law, but the law is wrong to mean the bank or whatever you hit. If your conservative, it is perfectly alright to break the law. Only progressives can't get away it.

Holder v. Humanitarian Law Project
 ——————
1 In full, 18 U. S. C. §2339B(a)(1) provides: "UNLAWFUL CONDUCT.— Whoever knowingly provides material support or resources to a foreign terrorist organization, or attempts or conspires to do so, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than 15 years, or both, and, if the death of any person results, shall be imprisoned for any term ofyears or for life. To violate this paragraph, a person must have knowledge that the organization is a designated terrorist organization . . .,that the organization has engaged or engages in terrorist activity . . .,or that the organization has engaged or engages in terrorism . . . ." The terms "terrorist activity" and "terrorism" are defined in 8 U. S. C. §1182(a)(3)(B)(iii), and 22 U. S. C. §2656f(d)(2), respectively.

We don't any Sharia Laws in the USA; so how about Mormon, Christian and Jewish laws?

ThinkProgress » REPORT: At Least 13 States Have Introduced Bills Guarding Against Non-Existent Threat Of Sharia Law

According to the Billings Gazette, State Rep. Gerald Gay (R) proposed the constitutional amendment "as a 'pre-emptive strike' to ensure judges don't rely on Shariah [sic] in cases involving, for example, arranged marriages, 'honor killings' or usury cases."

This is just too weird. How about Christian laws that allow parents to kill their children with prayers instead of providing professional medical care? Isn't that a form of 'honor killing'. Christianity also lists usury as a sin. Mormons have arranged marriages for little girls with their relatives. Everyone keeps saying our laws are based on the Ten Commandments handed down by God to Moses. To me it is just another group of meaningless religious nonsense.

I can't believe there is not a single lawyer in any of these 13 states who has read the US Constitution's First Amendment. Congress can not make any laws that establish a religion, ergo, no Sharia Law, and no damn Christian, Mormon, or Jewish laws either.

A Lesson In Gerrymandering - Virginia Style

This SH lives in one of the most conservative bigoted racists states in the Union. A past member of the Confederate States, our capital was the capital of the Confederacy. Our current governor even signs on to Confederacy remembrance legislation.

Now comes the time for redistricting and the Silly Party controls the House of Delegates and the Governorship, Attorney General and Lieutenant Governor's office.

The only thing standing between them and complete authority to gerrymander the entire state and increase their seats is the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Our illustrious AG Cooch says we have outgrown our institutional racism and should be exempted from the Voting Rights Act. Hmmmmm. Outgrown our racism have we?

Well Virginia is still only one of two racist states in the Union that still have the Jim Crow statute disenfranchising felons, who are overwhelmingly Black. Sorry Cooch, we need a lot more growing out of our institutional racism before we are eligible to be exempted from the Voting Rights Act.

And that won't even start to happen until we get rid of Taliban Bob, Bolling and Cooch and the current majority in the House of Delegates, our institutional racists who keep us from being exempt from the Voting Rights Act.

Del. Charles Carrico is the Randy Forbes of the Virginia State Legislature

On February 1st, 2011, the House of Delegates in Richmond, VA, voted to amend the state constitution by requiring school children to pray to their Christian God. I mean they have all White Anglo-Saxon Protestant preachers pray for the General Assembly every morning they are in session. Great to have someone else pay you to pray, isn't it?

So they are sharing the joy by now making every one of us pay school teachers to pray and provide houses of worship for all the little demons being raised in Virginia. Since it is a foregone conclusion that our illustrious governor Taliban Bob will sign this legislation if it gets through the Senate, it is incombent upon all of us in Virginia to contact our state Senators and demand they restore our Constitutional rights to liberty and freedom from state required religion. Demand your senator vote against HJ 593, the Constitutional Amendment That Confuses Religious Liberty.

Tax The Churches Or Do Without

The Religion News Service is reporting that Mission, Kansas is now being sued by the Catholics and Baptists for imposing a Transportation Untilities Fee on all business including churches. Churches should be paying property taxes like all other privately owned property is required to do. To get around the law in all 50 states and DC that exempt churches from paying property taxes, cash-strapped cities are now looking to invoke fees for services used by churches as well as all other private businesses.

The fun part of the story is watching the conservative lawyers for the churches go into court and argue that the fees are a violation of Church State Separation. You know, that thing they continually keep harping is not in the Constitution. Well it certainly is a live and doing well when a state or locality needs funds from them.

Don't you just love churches that argue there is no separation of Church and State when the issue is them receiving money from governments for faith-based intiatives and they argue they need to discriminate on the basis of religion and sexual preferences, but there sure as hell is a separation of Church and State when the State needs money from them. All of sudden they know all about the Lemon test and US Supreme Court interpretations that are also judge made law and not in the Constitution. Why, cause it is their ox that is getting gored.

In God We Trust, But The Bankers Don't

The sign in the picture says Judgment Day on 21 May 2011. I think it really means foreclosure on that day for some houses of worshiop. It seems thousands of churches are in financial trouble. Their congregations are getting laid off and subsisting on unemployment insurance which really drops the tithing and makes paying all those expensive loans a real problem.

I like the part where the Wall Street Journal reporter says the Banks don't really like foreclosing on God, but did you notice it doesn't bother them enough to stop. Gee, and they have no problem foreclosing on the rest of us at all.

We Live In The United Industries of America

Scalia and Thomas May Have Conflict of Interest, Common Cause Says - NYTimes.com

The conservatives are united in ways that progressives will never be organized. There unity is so strong that it is even illegal. The majority of our Supreme Court have upheld the right of Koch Industries to fund the election and elect those politicians who champion the Koch brothers issues of energy and pollution makers in the Citizens' United decision last year that paid for the new majority in the House of Representatives.

You should go to Palm Springs later this month. That is when the Koch brothers will be holding a political retreat on how to get rid of the black guy in the White House. And their guests include the most conservative Supreme Court Associate Justices Scalia and Thomas. Common Cause has filed a complaint with the Justice Department over the obvious conflict of interest demonstrated when two Supreme Court justices who decided a case that presented their hosts with so much additional power for their wealth in the election and running of our country. Welcome to the United Conservatives of America.

A CPA Compares a Normal Taxpayer to a Minister

Bet you can't guess who comes out on top? That's right the Minister. Even if the normal taxpayer was the director of a labor organization that helped thousands of workers or some other non-profit organization like the Red Cross that provides real aid to people, see how Ministers unfairly fare better than us.

One note though on the writer's statement about how Ministers can opt out of paying FICA but then can't get benefits. This was raised in a New York Times article a couple of years back that reported that when a large enough number of Ministers from really poor churches reach retirement age and are forced to go without social security benefits, they have successfully lobbied Congress to grant them benefits without ever paying into the plan.

The Wingnuts and the Two Travelers ~~ A Fractured Aesop Fable

Two men, one who always spoke the truth and the other who told nothing but lies, were traveling together and by chance came to the land of Wingnuts. One of the Wingnuts, who had raised herself to be queen, commanded them to be seized and brought before her, that she might know what was said of her among men.

She ordered at the same time that all the Wingnuts be arranged in a long row on her right hand and on her left, and that a throne be placed for her, as was the custom among men. After these preparations she signified that the two men should be brought before her, and greeted them with this salutation: "What sort of a queen do I seem to you to be, O strangers?" The Lying Traveler replied, "You seem to me a most mighty queen." "And what is your estimate of those you see around me?" "These," he made answer, "are worthy companions of yourself, fit at least to be ambassadors and leaders of armies." The Queen Wingnut and all her court, gratified with the lie, commanded that a handsome present be given to the flatterer.

On this the truthful Traveler thought to himself, "If so great a reward be given for a lie, with what gift may not I be rewarded, if, according to my custom, I tell the truth?" The Wingnut quickly turned to him. "And pray how do I and these my friends around me seem to you?" "Thou art," he said, "a most excellent Wingnut, and all these thy companions after thy example are excellent Wingnuts too." The Queen of the Wingnuts, enraged at hearing these truths, gave him over to the teeth, claws and Second Amendment remedies of her companions.

Can we give God back his gifts?

Sam Brownback is Kansas' two term Christian Republican 'C Street House' resident Senator and now is their Religious Far Right Zealot Governor. The boy even declared his inauguration day a 'gift from God' and his faith would heal the state's financial  and social problems.

Now I've heard of conceited, and I've heard of monumental egos before, Hell, I've even heard that the kind of pride or vanity expressed by Governor Brownback is a deadly sin, but to openly declare yourself a gift from God? Now that takes a kind of vanity that can only stem from a conceited monumental ego so large even God couldn't imagine it.

Obama Is Funding Religion Versus Science For The Next Two Year

I keep hoping we can find someone somewhere who can smack the President up side his head and knock some common sense into him. First he agrees to go along with the paid representatives of corporate interests and extend tax cuts for the top billionaires. Then, to offset the loss in revenue, he announces as his only spending cut that he will freeze his employees salaries for two years. In addition, he fails to mention that he continues to fund faith-based initiatives. So, while President Obama continues to pay Pat Robertson for prayers to keep hurricanes from striking the East Coast, he is also reducing the pay of the actual scientists hired to forecast and provide lifesaving warnings of all severe weather events that strike our North American Continent.

Like I said, can we please find someone who can knock a little common sense back into our President? Funding religion but not science is just not rational public policy.

Anti-Choice Pharmacist Refused Drugs to Bleeding Woman

Anti-Choice Pharmacist Refused Drugs to Bleeding Woman AlterNet

A woman walks into a pharmacy with a prescription to stop bleeding from doctors at Planned Parenthood. Before filling the script, the pharmacist calls Planned Parenthood and speaks with a nurse. The pharmacist wants the nurse to assure him the script is not for bleeding after termination of a pregnancy.

The nurse is of course barred from giving out patient health records, so the pharmacist refuses to fulfill the script without assurances that an abortion has not taken place. When he is asked to suggest another pharmacy that will fulfill the script, the pharmacist hangs up.

This little melodrama is brought to us by those friendly folks of the religious right wingnut variety. A pharmacist whose conscience not only forbids him from fulfilling aborticides, but also forbids him from fulfilling meds that stop bleeding after the fact.

And these people have nerve to claim they are concerned with an unborn fetus and the woman. They are clearly only misogynist.

Gingrich Front Group Calls For Punishing Judges By Eliminating Their Court

ThinkProgress » Gingrich Front Group Calls For Punishing Judges By Eliminating Their Court

It's time for the Ninth to go. That is the conclusion of ReAL Action chair Rick Tyler and Newt Gingrich.

Why, you might ask? Well it seems that the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the anti-establishment clause of the First Amendment again. It seems that Christian right wing zealots don't think placing Christian symbols all over federal property is an example of establishing religious thought in America. You know, just turn your head away if you see something you don't like.

It appears they can't always take their own advice though. When Don Wildmon in Mississippi heard something on the radio he didn't like, he complained to the FCC. That was a lot more work than just turning the left knob on the radio to another station or turning the right knob that turns the radio off. Then again it isn't nearly as profitable as making a big stink over something you hear on the radio you don't like and then raising lots of money by creating a furor over it.

But back to our idea of eliminating the Ninth Circuit by ReAL Action. Tyler states, "It’s time for this country to ask: 'If they’re so out of touch with the First Amendment, why are we continuing to employ them as judges?'" But are they so out of touch with the First Amendment? Not really, but it does make a really big furor for ReAL Action to raise lots of money off of, doesn't it? And that, after all, is the whole purpose here. Rick Tyler couldn't care less about a cross on a hill near San Diego, CA, or the First Amendment, or the Wingnuts who will send him money over this issue.
